At Card Catchers, we take the safety of your cards very seriously. Every trade and sale on our platform uses our exclusive The Sandwich Protocol™ — a collector-created shipping method designed to protect your cards from damage, bending, and tampering.

What is The Sandwich Protocol™?

The Sandwich Protocol™ works by literally “sandwiching” your cards between protective layers, creating a firm, tamper-evident shield that gives both the sender and receiver peace of mind.

How The Sandwich Protocol Works

  1. Basic Protection (All Trades) Every card is placed in a protective sleeve. This is the minimum standard for all trades and sales on Card Catchers.

  2. Double Protection Layer For any trade with a combined estimated value of $30 or more, or any individual card valued at $15 or more: The sleeved card is carefully sandwiched between two rigid toploaders or hard cases. This creates a solid, flat shield that prevents bending and pressure damage.

  3. Secure Outer Packaging The protected cards are placed inside a high-quality bubble mailer (or rigid envelope for smaller trades) with extra cushioning and sealed securely.

  4. Tracking & Insurance

    • For trades $50 or more (combined estimated value): Tracking is required.
    • For trades under $50: Tracking is highly recommended but not mandatory.

    Both the sender and receiver receive tracking information so the shipment can be followed from start to finish.

Proof of Condition

When the package arrives, the receiver is encouraged to document the condition of the cards before removing the protective layers. This provides clear proof for both parties if any issue ever arises.

Who Pays for Shipping?

Shipping costs are agreed upon between the two collectors during negotiation. Most trades use tracked shipping for added security.
